Tune-ups & spark plugs in Pensacola & Pace
Plugs, coils, and the basics that keep your engine smooth, done at your home or work.
A modern tune-up isn't points and a timing light anymore. It's replacing the spark plugs at the interval your manufacturer calls for, dealing with any ignition coils that are failing, and taking care of the filters and belts that tend to get ignored. Oilrun does all of it at your home or job in Pensacola or Pace.
Signs you're due
- Rough idle or a shudder at stoplights.
- Hesitation or stumbling when you accelerate, especially under load or up a hill.
- A misfire code (P0300 through P0308) or a flashing check engine light.
- Harder starting and worse fuel economy than the car used to get.
- Plugs that have never been changed on a car that's past its recommended plug interval.
What we do on-site
We pull the plugs and read them. Worn electrodes, oil fouling, or a cracked insulator each tell a different story, and we'll show you. We install the correct plug type and heat range (iridium or platinum where the manufacturer specifies it), gap them, and torque them properly, since an over-tightened plug in an aluminum head is an expensive mistake. If a coil has failed we replace it; on an older engine with one dead coil we'll give you the option of doing the full set while everything is apart. We also check the engine air filter, cabin filter, serpentine belt, and PCV system and quote anything that's due. We don't do standalone oil changes; we only do one when it's part of another repair we're already doing.

FAQ
Common questions
How often do spark plugs need replacing?
It depends on the plug type and the manufacturer's schedule. Your owner's manual lists the interval; tell us your year, make, and model and we'll look it up when we quote.
Should I replace all the coils if one fails?
Not necessarily. Coils fail one at a time. On an older engine, replacing the set at once can save a second visit, and we'll price both options so you can choose.
Do you do oil changes with a tune-up?
Only when an oil change is needed as part of another repair we're already doing. We don't offer standalone oil changes.
